Privacy Policy

Cây Ơi is committed to protecting the privacy of our users, especially children (aged 6-10) and families. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Account Data

When you register an account, we collect:

• Name: Used to address you in the app.
• Email: Used for account management, login, and contact.
• Password: Hashed and stored securely.

2. Profiles & Plants

• Child profile: The child's name for the AI to address them friendlily.
• Plant data: Plant name, plant type, and plant location (a text field such as "Balcony", "Desk").
• Avatar: Chosen from the device library and stored only locally on the device. Avatars are not uploaded to the Cây Ơi servers.

3. Hardware Sensor Data

The smart plant pot sends environmental data (Temperature, Soil Moisture, Light) to our server to analyze the plant's care needs. This data is linked to the hardware device and does not directly identify personal behavior.

4. Voice & Audio

The app uses the Microphone (via speech_to_text) to convert speech to text when interacting with the AI.

• No Audio Storage: Voice is not recorded as an audio file and is not uploaded to the Cây Ơi servers.
• The speech-to-text conversion is processed by the device's operating system (OS SpeechRecognizer).

5. Artificial Intelligence (AI Chat)

The chat transcript, along with plant status information and the child's name, is sent via a secure connection (HTTPS) to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate responses.

• We do not store chat history in the database on the Cây Ơi servers.
• The AI is configured with strict safety rules to never ask for or record personally identifiable information (PII), addresses, schools, or suggest risky actions.

6. Location Data

The app DOES NOT use GPS, DOES NOT collect geographic coordinates (latitude/longitude), and DOES NOT request location access. The "Plant Location" field in the app is simply a free-text field entered by the user to describe indoor spaces.

7. Tracking & Analytics

The app DOES NOT use any analytics SDKs, ad tracking, or Crashlytics (such as Firebase Analytics, Advertising ID). There are no advertisements in the app.

8. Data Deletion

You have the right to completely delete your account and associated data. Please see the Account Deletion Guide for more details.
